Mental Health Care Program Successfully Conducted At DCWC Community Hospital

January 31, 2026 “At DCWC Community Hospital, your health is our priority" With this guiding motto, DCWC Community Hospital successfully conducted a regular mental health service program under its ongoing healthcare initiatives. As part of this program, a visiting psychiatrist from Bhaktapur, Dr. Dikhshya Neupane, led a comprehensive mental health treatment and counseling session at the hospital.

The program was formally inaugurated with a warm welcome by Manager Mr. Tul Bahadur Lama, who expressed his appreciation for Dr. Neupane’s dedication in addressing complex mental health challenges and providing professional leadership in psychiatric care. The initiative marked an important step toward strengthening accessible and quality mental health services within the community.

Community Participation and Services Provided

A total of 22 individuals participated in the mental health specialist service. Among them, 7 were women and 15 were men, reflecting growing awareness and acceptance of mental health care among community members.
Participants received psychiatric consultations, and in addition to mental health services, some beneficiaries also accessed dental treatment, making the program a holistic healthcare effort. This integrated approach ensured that patients’ overall well-being was addressed rather than focusing on a single health concern.

Common Mental Health Concerns Addressed
During the counseling sessions, Dr. Dikhshya Neupane provided guidance and treatment for common mental health issues, including:

  • Excessive thinking and persistent worry
  • Fear and anxiety without clear reasons
  • Headaches and heart palpitations
  • Loss of appetite or overeating
  • Trembling of hands and feet
  • Irritability and mood changes
  • Difficulty concentrating and restlessness

Dr. Neupane emphasized that these symptoms fall under treatable mental health conditions and can be managed effectively with proper care, lifestyle adjustments, and timely counseling.

Practical Advice for Better Mental Well-being
As part of the consultation, Dr. Neupane offered practical and easy-to-follow recommendations, such as:

  • Maintaining a regular sleep schedule
  • Avoiding mobile phone use late at night
  • Limiting tea, coffee, cold, and junk foods
  • Sharing inner feelings only with trusted and reliable individuals
  • Bringing positive changes in daily behavior and routine

These simple lifestyle modifications, combined with professional support, were encouraged to improve mental health and overall quality of life.

DCWC Community Hospital would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this program.
